On reading this last night I considered how long it’s taking me to get my novel together, The House, that is. In actuality, the novel is written, and edited. I’m presently working on the layout of the text. I’m a do-it-your-selfer. After purchasing an edition of Adobe’s Design CS4 I feel obligated to at least make an attempt at transferring my novel that I am self-publishing from MS Word to book format.

What if everything we experience in life is truly the occurrence of a dream, that our living is in essence, one small part of larger reality, the life and time of someone outside of us, or a person whose life surrounds, encompasses and holds that of ours?

What if the decisions we make, the actions we carry out are predetermined by those, past and present of this person?

What if we are but an aspect or one dimension of the terrain of the personality held by another?

What if the joy we experience in our dream is the nightmare some else is experiencing?

When does our madness become or stir another person’s joy?

Connecting with the godhead, that part of the divine that lives within all, the Imago Dei, coalesces the disparate parts of the soul, mind and brokenness of heart and spirit.

Writing or revising and editing this part of a story or novel can and often dispenses healing to the writer whose words later transmit this to the reader.

The writer undergoes a trial or test of sorts each time she or he sets out to craft a work.

‘My Name is Khan’, Bollywood, and Writing…

This weekend I saw the movie, “My Name is Khan”. It was a lovely, entertaining and deeply moving experience for both me and my husband.

For writers unfamiliar with Bollywood movies, I high recommend beginning to watch them.

Though long, they are a wonderful artistic creation to behold. As with any art form, not all are excellent.

A significant number have moved and restored hope to my consciousness over the last decade such that I now have a collection of around 100 DVD’s of various Bollywood movies.

My children, ages 10 years to 23 years love them and even purchase their own. Through a contract made with Fox/Searchlight Pictures, Bollywood, located in Mumbhai, India, will now have its films shown on the big screen throughout America.

This is a wonderful venture that ideally will lift the craft of American movie-making from the dearth of ideas and imagination.

Commitment, The Number 8, and Einstein’s Theory of Relativity…

A novel, the first draft of which I wrote 8 years ago, has come together.

Wow!

It hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m so excited and obsessed with this revision, like with none other.

It’s such a wonderful feeling to have something that you’ve been holding, and for such a long time, on which you’ve worked so hard, and then realizing it just wasn’t right, you laid aside.

I logged 6 revisions during this time. Yet always at the end, the pieces didn’t fit. I had yet to display my best work on this story.

Sometimes the universe delivers us the idea for a creation for which, despite our fervor and commitment to carrying out, we lack the skills to bring the creation into greatest illumination.

And so we wait.

E-mails, Twitter, Dyslexia…

Today was one of those days. I sat down to my computer, opened one my four e-mails, and had to attend to business.

What I mean by attending to business is responding to e-mail inquiries, requests for me to do guest blogs, and answering acceptances from writers and authors whom I have invited to host on my my blog talk radio show, Book Talk, Creativity and Family Matters.

All good stuff. But it takes time.
