“The House”, Kindle, i-Pads and Nooks…

In the next 3 months my second book, a novel, The House will be available for purchase. I say the next 3 months because in the vein of remaining honest, I am not certain what exact date this latest edition of The House will be available for consumers to purchase.

I must remain true to establish integrity. Integrity means more to an entrepreneur than gold.

And in working to publish The House I have become an entrepreneur.

Yeah, little ole’ me, the author and psychotherapist who puts her husband and family first and values them more than anything after the higher power.

My first publication, Keeper of Secrets…Translations of an Incident, a collection of short stories, came to print through a traditional publisher.

My novel The House will come to print and become available in digital form on Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Apple’s iPad, God willing, because by way of   the  financial help, emotional support and love of my husband, I published it.

Yes, I not only wrote the novel, but I also contracted with the graphic artist who created my book cover.

I enlisted the services of and paid two professional editors, after an author friend was so kind to read The House in its early stages and give me marked and important comments on revision.

I purchased a version of Adobe CS4 In-Design and paid for a tutoring session to begin to learn how to use the computer program that allows you to layout your novel in book print format.

And I have blogged and Tweeted and carried out my broadcasts on my blog talk radio show, Book Talk, Creativity and Family Matters, along with doing guest blogs, writing interviews as well as giving them to the hosts of other blog talk and traditional radio show all in the name of raising a platform on which to market and promote my novel, after which I intend for others to follow.

Did I ever think that self-publishing would offer the path down which my writing would come to print and be made available to the public?

No.

Do I regret or feel sad that this is how readers will get the opportunity to read my writing?

No.

I’m simply happy and overly amazed that I have done this. With a few last steps remaining I am quite in awe of what I’ve done.

Simply put, I didn’t think I had it in me.

And yet it is amazing what developments in computer technology and the evolution of the Internet has offered to ordinary people like myself to empower ourselves to accomplished.

Yes, we empower ourselves, through our beliefs often times besotted with doubts and fears.

Acknowledging and facing those fears provides fuel to move through them and integrate the energy, and experience to achieve our hopes, dreams and desires.

On completing the tasks we lay before ourselves and driven by our passions the knowledge we held and have gained along the way becomes wisdom, hope and encouragement mixed with the here-now-and then-experience of what we have done that we can then share with others who desire to do the same.

Have a dream of  creating something and offering it up to the world for others to enjoy and that will entertain, uplift and perhaps educated them?

Do visions of grandeur refuse to abandon you, waylay and annoy you to not give up, but to keep on working? Or is it simply a nagging voice inside your head that says, each time you read about or see what one more person has brought into being and launched into the world, “See, you can do that too?”

If you answer or response, verbal or silent, to any of these questions is, “Yes,” then get started living your dream.

The task will require a lot of your time and energy. You will need to continually wash yourself in patience.

For those who will, learning how to pray and valuing the worth of prayer will provide significant assistance.

But all in all, you’ll love it, and yourself even more for having done it.
