The reality of publishing is that it is difficult to make a profit in this business.

And why does one want to make a profit?

Because editors need to be paid, it takes money to print copies of a book, and most importantly, authors need food, shelter, and health insurance, none of which are cheap, if we are to write entertaining stories.

Of Fiction, Facebook and Potential Consumers of Our Writing…

Authors and publishers must be willing to provide a well crafted and substantive product in both are to thrive and achieve financial success in the 21st century marketplace.

This takes time.

Authors must also fine and devise ways to remain in contact with our readers. The Internet becomes our godsend in this respect.

E-mails, Twitter, Dyslexia…

Today was one of those days. I sat down to my computer, opened one my four e-mails, and had to attend to business.

What I mean by attending to business is responding to e-mail inquiries, requests for me to do guest blogs, and answering acceptances from writers and authors whom I have invited to host on my my blog talk radio show, Book Talk, Creativity and Family Matters.

All good stuff. But it takes time.
