Cell Phone Glitches, “On Writing” and Gratitude…

Yesterday I hosted author, Myne Whitman, on Book Talk, Creativity and Family Matters. The original date for our interview was Saturday, May 15, 2010 @ 12 pm PT.

Twelve, noon on Saturdays is the usual time of the broadcast, but on Saturday we have some technical problems. Myne’s cell phone kept going out.

By the time she was able to connect I had logged off. I felt horrible.

I was also worried if she all right. Rarely do I have technical problems that prevent the entire broadcast.

Luckily, I’ve never had any author to blow off an interview. Anytime there’s an interruption something is seriously wrong beyond the guest’s control.

And that is what happened to Myne.

“The House”, Kindle, i-Pads and Nooks…

In the next 3 months my second book, a novel, The House will be available for purchase. I say the next 3 months because in the vein of remaining honest, I am not certain what exact date this latest edition of The House will be available for consumers to purchase.

I must remain true to establish integrity. Integrity means more to an entrepreneur than gold.

And in working to publish The House I have become an entrepreneur.

Of Blogging, “Motherwit Four,” and Generosity…

Of the mother wit and wisdom in her writing Angelia Menchan says, “My mother was 30 years old before she decided to have children. I had these old women around me. My grandmother and then godmother lived to be 102. I was one of those old souls at a very young age. You know that story about the girl born with the veil over her face that would be me. And I just kind of tossed that over my shoulder. On August 9, 2010 I’m publishing an anthology of stories called, “Motherwit Four,” in honor of my mother.”

Author, Angelia Menchan, discusses “Ramblings,” “Schae’s Story,” “Is No Not Clear Enough for You?” and her recent novel, “Mrs. Black”.

She has also published an anthology, Women’s Writes, co-authored with Jennifer Coissiere, Darnetta Frazier, and Shaneika Ferguson.

Give-and-Take, Mysteries and Playgrounds…

Networking is an interesting and weird thing. It requires give-and-take.

In a world or culture so focused on taking, and amassing, the 21st century version of connecting with others can cause us to see some things about ourselves that are not so pretty.

The Internet is clearly a place where transparency is a plus.

You must give to get. And what you give has to be of service to those from whom seek to receive.

So how does one get into this mode of giving without worrying so much of what I’ll receive?

War, and Standing “In the Shadow of Suribachi”

Ever wondered what war is like for those who survive the physical batter and yet lay shattered beneath the psychological impairments of their battle? And what about the family members unable to fit the pieces together and create a lifeline of continuity for their loved ones who returned confused, bereaved and mournful at the loss
